At the end of this lesson you should be able to :
- calculate the emf induced in a circuit when the magnetic flux through the circuit is changing with time.
- calculate the emf induced between the ends of a conducting bar as it moves through a region where there is a constant magnetic field.
- Apply Lenz's law to determine the direction of an induced emf or current and understand that Lenz's law is aconsequence of the conservation of energy.
- calculate the maximum and instantaneous values of the sinusoidal emf generated in a conducting loop rotating in a constant magnetic field.
- calculate the induced electric field at various points in a charge free region when the variation of the magnetic field over the region is specified.
